R.I.P. Pat Cartledge

Pat Cartledge

Tony Shutt wrote this in the April 2017 magazine:-

"Finally this month, we fondly remember Pat Cartledge, who died on 16 March, aged 87 years. First and foremost Pat was a caring and inspirational mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a wife to Alec. In her professional career, Pat had been a cookery teacher. Dog training had been a keen interest, and she had owned several border collies. Among her involvements with Send Church, Pat served as a pastoral assistant, churchwarden and since 1988 as a Licensed Lay Minister (Reader). Many are grateful for Patís encouragement and support, including me. With Derek Dear, the other churchwarden in 1995, Pat was instrumental in agreeing to my appointment by the Bishop of Guildford as Priest-in-charge. Many in and beyond the local community will miss Pat and be thankful for her kindness, resilience and determination. Eternal rest, grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace."

Pat's funeral will take place on Thursday 6th April at 12.00pm in church followed by committal at Woking Crematorium at 1.15pm.
